It also contains antioxidants, which may help to brighten and protect the tone of your skin. However, as with most citrus oils, when exposed to the sun, it might cause skin sensitivity.

It’s also used to treat acne, cellulite, and varicose veins on the skin. It is useful against fungi that cause athlete’s foot, thrush, and yeast infections due to its potent antifungal effects.

Though there isn’t a lot of clinical data, lemon oil is still used in aromatherapy for calming the common cold and sore throat. As an air-diffuser, lemon oil can help relax both your mind and the muscles in your throat.
